APhA's Academies
APhA's Academies provide a wide array of programming at the APhA Annual Meeting. Become involved in your Academy by attending an Open Section Meeting, serving in the House of Delegates, or attending one of the many Open Forums.
APhA-Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM)
The APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM) assists members in every practice setting to advance and implement pharmaceutical care. Academy members practice in every pharmacy setting, including independent, chain, and supermarket pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, physicians' offices, managed care organizations, federal facilities, nuclear pharmacies, and other specialized settings. Annual Meeting registrants are encouraged to participate in APhA-APPM activities. Click here for more information on APhA-APPM activities.
APhA-Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS)
The APhA-Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS) advances the pharmaceutical sciences and improves the quality of pharmacy practice by stimulating research and promoting its dissemination to improve patient care. Academy members practice in education, industry, government, and other scientific arenas. The Academy is focused on connecting science with practice. Identify a colleague with a similar research interest by their section-specific ribbon. Click here for more information on APhA-APRS activities.
APhA-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP)
The mission of APhA-ASP is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, and to envision and actively promote the future of pharmacy. Members of APhA-ASP meet several times — at the APhA-ASP Opening General Session, APhA-ASP House of Delegates sessions and the APhA-ASP Awards Ceremony. Student pharmacists can attend a variety of educational programs offered — many of them student-focused. Additionally, the APhA Career Connection and the Community Pharmacy Residency Showcase are offered to assist students seeking employment.
