APhA Pain Institute: Chronic Pain Management: Best Practices and Clinical Pearls (pre-registration required)

Chronic pain affects more patients in the United States than diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, and cancer combined. There are currently more than 100 million Americans with chronic pain, including 65% to 80% of patients with terminal cancer, 62% of nursing home residents, and many other individuals. In this session, a pain management expert will share clinical pearls that highlight creative therapeutic approaches for supporting patients with chronic pain and will discuss how pharmacists can apply these approaches in a variety of practice settings.
